Hot chlorides

Whilst some materials will perform well in lower-temperature chlorides, corrosion can be much more significant in high temperature chloride environments. Harsh chloride and sulphate-containing seawater can effect severe corrosion on components in oil & gas applications.

Bodycote’s ceramic Tech17 (HVOF WC with ceramic densification) coating will provide 700hrs minimum service life in severe chlorides whilst Tech17 ceramic seal for chrome plate will provide 300hrs.
